Celebrating Apprenticeships at Crown!

National Apprenticeship Week 2023 (NAW2023) ran from 6th to 12th February in the UK, a week-long celebration of apprenticeships across England. The theme for this year was ‘Skills for Life’

At Crown Worldwide, we supported NAW2023 by celebrating the positive impact that apprenticeships have on individuals, our business and the local community by offering local jobs to local career aspirants.

Apprenticeships offer a pathway to young people to make a smooth transition from education to the world of work, enabling them to gain valuable real-life experience and ‘earn while they learn’.

Our Entry Level apprenticeship program - the ‘Aspire Apprenticeship Program’ is an opportunity to nurture talent to meet the needs of our businesses. We have apprentices across all our Business Units in the organisation. We can address skills gaps and source apprenticeship program to even upskill existing staff, who feel valued and are able to grow in their roles. This increases retention and productivity. We are delighted that 2 of our existing staff decided to embark on this program.

Currently, we have 13 Aspire Apprentices at entry level studying and working towards varying stages of qualifications in Business Administration, Marketing, IT, HR and Supply Chain.

To mark NAW 2023, we spoke to some of our current apprentices about their experiences at Crown.
Sofia Rogoff, Marketing Assistant Apprentice who has been with us since September 2022 and had this to say about her experience so far: “I am lucky to have a welcoming and friendly team that supports me to develop my skills and pushes me to be the very best version of myself. Who you work with makes all the difference, and since the very first day I knew that I was joining a welcoming and friendly environment and have made friends among the other apprentices.

As anyone starting a new chapter in life, it's overwhelming and very exciting! Learning and working at the same time can sound like a challenge, yet it enables you to work on essential transferable skills. My journey has only just started, and I look forward to seeing what the future brings for me, professionally at Crown.”

Apprentices bring a refreshing take and unique perspective to the business. It is an effective way to develop a motivated, skilled, and qualified workforce for the future.
"Crown’s apprenticeship scheme provided a great start to my working career. The course was full of opportunity as I worked across a variety of business divisions with multiple experts in their field. A caring and motivating environment, the course provided a healthy balance between studying and gaining work experience. I am now full time at Crown and continuing to strive towards my career goals."
