We’ve Published Our 2025 Sustainability Report – Here’s What We’ve Achieved
We’re proud to share our 2025 Sustainability Report, which outlines the progress we’ve made across our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) priorities in 2024. From reducing our carbon footprint and expanding circular economy initiatives, to embedding ESG into our culture and operations, this report marks a meaningful step forward in our journey.
Across our global operations in 43 countries, we’re continuing to invest in responsible business practices. We’ve aligned our reporting with leading international frameworks including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the UN Global Compact, and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, ensuring our actions are transparent, credible, and accountable.
Tackling Carbon with Science-Based Targets
One of our proudest milestones this year was securing Board approval to pursue Science-Based Targets (SBTi). With support from our partner Normative, we’ve mapped our full Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions for the first time and are using this data to build detailed carbon reduction plans at a country level.
Thanks to these efforts, we achieved a 16% reduction in our total carbon footprint and a 14% drop in purchased electricity and heating compared to our 2022 baseline. These reductions reflect the hard work across our branches to adopt renewable energy and invest in energy-efficient upgrades.
Growing Our Circular Impact
We’re also scaling our circular economy initiatives, particularly through our Workspace brand. In 2024, we refurbished over 27,000 items of office furniture and IT equipment at our Renew Centres, saving an estimated 2,000 tonnes of CO₂e.
We were especially excited to open our first Renew Centre in Asia, based in Singapore, as part of our commitment to expanding sustainable services globally. For the first time, we also formally reported on waste generation across 90% of our branches, diverting 95% of 10,777 tonnes of waste from landfill through recycling, reuse, and energy recovery.
Recognition for Our Efforts
We were honoured to receive a Bronze Medal from EcoVadis this year, reflecting an 18-point improvement from the previous year and placing us in the top 13% of companies in our sector globally. Our regional teams in New Zealand and the UK & Ireland went even further, earning Gold and Silver Medals respectively, and placing in the top 5% and 15% of companies worldwide.
We also continue to maintain a strong set of ISO certifications, including ISO 9001, 14001, 27001, and 45001, which demonstrate our ongoing commitment to quality, environmental care, information security, and workplace safety.
Embedding ESG into Everything We Do
We know that real change starts from within. That’s why we’ve invested in ESG training and awareness, with 84% of our computer users completing our Carbon Awareness training, and 76% completing our in-house Carbon Action course. We now have a growing network of Carbon Champions and sustainability trainers helping us scale knowledge and action across the business.
We’ve also taken big steps forward in governance, introducing a Sustainable Procurement Policy and embedding ESG into our budgeting and performance management processes. In 2024 alone, over 4,000 ESG-related goals were set across the business, each one helping to embed sustainability more deeply into our everyday operations.
Celebrating 60 Years by Giving Back
To mark our 60th anniversary, we launched Giving Back Together, a global social impact initiative focused on employee development, diversity, equity and inclusion, and community engagement. Through this initiative:
- 1,431 employees participated in DEI training
- We supported 97 mentoring pairs across the Group
- Our labour and human rights score with EcoVadis rose by 26%, placing us in the top 11% of our sector
Looking Ahead
As our Group ESG Director Joy Lam said in the report:
“This year’s report reflects the momentum we’re building across all areas of ESG. From science-based targets to circular economy innovation, we’re proud of the progress made—but we’re also clear-eyed about the work ahead.”
We’re committed to going further, scaling our impact, strengthening partnerships, and continuing to build a business that’s not only successful, but sustainable and inclusive at every level.
