Group CEO Jennifer Harvey is set to run the London Marathon this weekend—her final race in the Abbott World Marathon Majors series, also known as the Six Star challenge. The series includes Tokyo, Boston, New York City, Berlin, Chicago and London.
Jennifer, who is in the final stretch of training, said: “On Sunday, I’ll run my first London Marathon. When I cross the finish line in London, I’ll earn my Six Star medal—and I’m very excited!”
She added, “For each marathon I’ve run, I’ve raised money for a local charity in the host city. For London, I’ve chosen an incredibly important one.”
Jennifer has chosen to support Michael Sobell House, part of Harlington Hospice—a charity that supports people facing serious or terminal illness, as well as their families, friends and anyone bereaved.
Each year, Harlington Hospice supports thousands of residents across Hillingdon and neighbouring areas. It costs £6.5 million to operate annually, including £2.2 million to run Michael Sobell House. Around a third of its funding comes from the National Health Service (NHS); the rest is raised through charitable donations—making fundraising vital to keep these services available.
Jennifer added: “Michael Sobell House helps thousands of people in the community near Crown’s London office, providing free care for terminally ill people, as well as support for families before, during and after bereavement. They care for the whole person—medical needs and wellbeing—and also offer the wider community opportunities for learning, skill-building and social connection.”
She continued: “Please help me raise money for this wonderful local organisation and support me through the marathon on Sunday. Knowing I’m fundraising for this charity will really help me keep going when it starts to hurt!”
