Crown Worldwide Group awarded Ecovadis Bronze for Sustainability.

Crown Worldwide Group has received a bronze medal from the sustainability rating organization EcoVadis for its global work in the areas of environment, social and governance.

Crown has received a significant uplift in scores for environment, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement, 18 points higher than its 2023 score.  It was also found to be advanced or outstanding in 13 out of the 24 theme areas that EcoVadis evaluated.

“This is an important milestone in our sustainability journey,” said Jennifer Harvey, Group CEO, commenting on the award.

“While we will continue to make progress, climbing into the  top 13 per cent of companies rated globally by EcoVadis in our industry (Other transportation support activities industry), reassures stakeholders seeking to work with like-minded companies. I am grateful for the leadership of our ESG Director Joy Lam, our Sustainability Steering Committee, and the strong alignment across the organization – all of which are transforming our collective mindset.”

In the last two years, Crown has successfully mapped the carbon footprint of its global operations, establishing a baseline for carbon reduction targets, which the company is committed to setting.

It has also developed a sustainable procurement policy, undertaken a materiality assessment, continued to develop circular economy solutions for clients and published its most comprehensive sustainability report to date.

Crown’s UK & Ireland and New Zealand operations have already achieved gold EcoVadis ratings for their approaches to sustainability and responsible business.

Joy Lam, Group ESG Director at Crown Worldwide Group, said: “We know that Crown’s track record in corporate social responsibility is very good, especially when it comes to giving back and taking a humancentric approach to business. But we’ve been working hard to evolve our legacy, to have a more positive impact on the environment and ensure we’re leading the industry in procurement and other policy areas.

“Our work has been heavily focused on this in the last two years, and while there is still lots to do, being awarded a bronze medal by EcoVadis is significant and shows that we’re on the right course and taking the correct actions.

“Importantly though, it gives us some outside perspective on where we need to improve, and I look forward to working with colleagues to continue our journey.”
