The Supply Chain Management team reports to Gary Maguire, Chief Risk Officer and is led by Global Alliance Manager, Stuart Lawson. Its primary responsibilities are to:
- Drive the governance required for the recruitment, selection and on-going management of organizations that perform services to customers on Crown’s behalf.
- Support quality management by identifying Service Partners that are not performing to standard and taking appropriate steps to improve performance or finding alternative solutions.
- Negotiate competitively priced service solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
- Manage relationships with Mobility Service Partners that operate in territories where Crown does not have its own operations.
- Encourage engagement of all stakeholders through education, communication and other activities that serve to strengthen commitment to serving our customers to the highest industry standards.
The team has interaction with many parts of the functions within Crown – Operations; Account Management; Group Pricing; Finance to name a few. Although our focus has, historically, been on the Relocations and Mobility business division, the intent is to further develop our supply chain management processes within other brands – Fine Art, Records Management, and Logistics and Workspace.
That's what we do. Now, let's take a look at who we are:
Global Alliance Manager, is a UK-based industry veteran. He first joined the industry in 1979 and graduated to Regional Operations leadership before specializing in Customer Service & Employee Development in the UK’s leading household goods moving brand. He joined Crown in March 2001 and held roles in the UKI and European Region before leading the development of Crown’s global partner network.
Partner Relations Manager, HHG Moving, is in the second spell of his Career with Crown, having re-joined us in June 2018. Based in Colorado, USA, Franco’s responsibilities include oversight of all Household Goods Moving partners in the Americas.
Service Partner Database Administrator based in the UK, joined Crown in May 2017. More recently, she has been instrumental in developing and delivering training on the topic of supply chain management systems and processes, as well as managing the creation of partner and internal newsletters. Sadly, Michelle will be moving on to pastures new at the end of the year – we wish her the very best as she starts an entirely new chapter in her career.
To support the evolution of Crown’s approach to working with service partners, a new team – based in Manila, Philippines – was created in July earlier this year.
“The new team come with considerable experience in supply chain management activities and we are excited by the new ideas and approach they will bring to ensure that the Crown Service Partner network gets great support to become best in class”, commented Stuart Lawson, Global Alliance Manager.
Our new colleagues – Miriam, Lee Ann and Samantha - joined Crown during July and August and are already hard at work on some initial projects whilst also getting a thorough understanding of our industry. In turn, we hope that the team will get the full support of our Partners as we take this next step in our partner relations journey.
