For our last CSR highlight of 2019 we’d like to draw your attention to one of the most ambitious charitable activities we’ve ever seen at Crown.
Claire Allinson, Customer Relationship Manager in the U.K. is undertaking one of the world’s most difficult rowing competitions: a 3,000 mile journey across the Atlantic Ocean, and alongside her team-mates, the “Oarsome Foursome”, she’s doing it all for charity. Crown is sponsoring Claire in her endeavour, as part of this wider commitment to good causes and other voluntary efforts. In addition colleagues have held fund raising events to support Claire in her efforts.
What is the Atlantic Challenge?
The Atlantic Challenge is widely considered to be one of the toughest rowing challenges in the world. It involves an over 3,000 mile journey from the Canary Islands to Antigua. As well as months of dedicated preparation and training, and the row itself may surprise you in terms of how gruelling it is. You can learn a little bit more about this, as well as the very personal story of why Claire decided to sign up, in our interview with her here.
Who is Claire Allinson and the Oarsome Foursome?
Claire isn’t undertaking the Atlantic Challenge alone, she’s part of a team called the “Oarsome Foursome”. You can learn more about them here.
How can I help support them?
The Oarsome Foursome have a Just Giving page located here. If you’d like to donate, feel free too.
