CSR Highlight – Feeding the homeless with Het Stoelenproject

It was a productive and worthwhile experience. We hope to organise more collaborative events as working together upped the ante and we achieved more.
On March 20, 2018 there was a CSR event that centred on feeding the homeless at homelessness charity Het Stoelenproject. It was a collaborative event with colleagues from the Crown Amsterdam office and temporary accommodation Service Partner, SACO Apartments, coming together to purchase, prepare and serve a meal to the homeless.

The day started with a trip to the local farmer’s market, butcher shop and supermarket to get all the ingredients. The menu included a chicken curry, a salad, a cucumber riata and dessert of apples and custard. All the dishes were made entirely by the team.

Participating in the event were Crown colleagues Debora Riemens, Account Manager, World Mobility, and Malu Dekker, HR Advisor, Benelux, with SACO Apartments representatives An Pegels, Business Development Manager, and Milo Smits, General Manager, Wittenberg Amsterdam, who were very enthusiastic about the event and really enjoyed the day.
A special mention goes to Lesley Putnam who organised this collaborative event and provided the following feedback from partners and colleagues: “It was a productive and worthwhile experience. We hope to organise more collaborative events as working together upped the ante and we achieved more.”

CSR is an integral part of the culture and ethos of Crown and every employee is encouraged to participate. It is exciting to share our CSR initiatives with our Service partners and we seize opportunities to collaborate with the wider Crown Network to execute CSR activities.
