Crown Takes Part in Mo'vember
Last November, for the entirety of the month, a dedicated group of Crown gentlemen participated in "Movember", an event held each year where participants grow "Mo's" or moustaches in order to raise vital funds and awareness for prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. This group of Mo' Bros representing Crown's team were effective in spreading and raising awareness simply by displaying their Mo's. Participants also included "Mo' Sistas", who are the dedicated women that help register and support the men in their lives by raising money and seeking sponsorship for moustache-growing efforts.
The creative, moustache-growing campaign began in Australia in 2003 with only 30 Mo' Bros and has since then, registered 1.1 million Mo' Bros and Sistas globally. The Movember movement has now garnered formal campaigns in Australia, New Zealand, the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Finland, the Netherlands, Spain, South Africa, and Ireland. Last year alone (2010), 447, 808 Movember participants around the world raised almost USD $76,000,000. Since the initial campaign in 2003, Movember has accumulated a staggering USD $165,000,000, and it appears that the Movember phenomenon is growing exponentially every year!
This month-long event proved to be very successful as all 47 Crown, mustache growers raised almost USD $18,000! Our team was bravely lead by top leader, Jonathan Elias, IT senior infrastructure support-UK who gathered USD $3,937 for the team. Among Crown’s account of moustache-growing fundraisers were their captain, Patrick Kenning, global account manager, and Stuart Lawson, global alliance manager. This year's commitment to moustache growing more than doubled last year's accumulated funds of USD $7,800, while in addition, more than tripled in participants compared with last year's 15 registered Mo' Bros. Next November will be Crown's third year participating in Movember, and there are no signs of slowing down.

According to Movember's website, "No matter the country or city, Movember will continue to work to change established habits and attitudes men have about their health, to educate men about the health risks they face, getting them to act on that knowledge thereby increasing the chances of early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment."
