Crown is SAS 70 Certified!

Crown, an international relocations, moving services company, specializing in moving and storage, private and corporate relocation services, has officially become SAS 70 certified, a widely recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). It certifies that a service organization has implemented controls over its operating procedures to provide reasonable assurance in processing financial data for their clients. These controls include both IT security controls and business process controls.

Many of Crown's clients are publicly-traded companies and are required to follow certain internal controls to ensure accuracy in their financial reporting. Because Crown process financial data for our clients, we are also required to implement similar internal control procedures. In order to get SAS 70 certified, Crown had to endure the 12-month period from preparation to the issuance of the certificate. As Philip Poon, Crown's group information security & risk manager who was responsible for the SAS70 Certification process, said, "We needed to ensure our processes were auditable. In other words, we needed to have written policies, documented operating process, evidence for review, sign off, and approval. We also implemented new systems to tighten up our network security in fulfilling the requirements." Crown received the certificate within 12 months, a great accomplishment for a global company of its size.
